Ignore Dishonest Ruling-Class War Hawks
Here is the harsh reality of the American ruling class: they are as dumb as they are corrupt.
“Blessed are the peacemakers.”
For 2000 years, this invocation from the Sermon on the Mount has reassured those who seek negotiation and bargaining instead of conflict and force.
Right now, the ruling class powerbrokers of America recklessly demand a continual escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Moreover, these globalist warmongers insist on irresponsible, hyperbolic rhetoric to justify an increasingly interventionist US approach.
The latest shameful such propaganda appeared via the widely watched Rachael Maddow Show on MSNBC. The former Ambassador to Russia for Barack Obama, Michael McFaul, annunciated a totally fabricated claim to allegedly position Putin as worse than Adolf Hitler. McFaul, a professor at Stanford University and a Rhodes Scholar alum, completely invented fake history, claiming that “one difference between Hitler and Putin is that Hitler didn’t kill ethnic Germans, German-speaking people.”
Wow.
First of all, his absurd statement totally disrespects the sacred memory of 160,000+ German Jews killed by Hitler, per the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. In addition, McFaul and host Ali Velshi disparaged the souls of other brave Germans exterminated by Hitler for non-compliance, heroic martyrs like German evangelical minister Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Catholic priest, Father Bernhard Lichtenberg.
What explains such dishonest and irresponsible rhetoric, such ahistorical lies from apparently highly credentialed individuals and organizations? The only plausible explanation involves the hawkish thirst for war and for continual American intervention that has marked the media and foreign policy establishments for decades in America.
There was a time, over a generation ago, when institutions of academia and media could be counted on for an anti-war bias, if anything. But in 21st century America, the mavens of media gladly join the supposed intellectual university leaders of globalism to create a chorus for conflict.
These ruling class laptop warriors view the world as a game board to be managed through their ostensibly enlightened decision-making. But in reality, all of their nation-building and strategic follies only ensure misery overseas and anguish at home, especially for working-class Americans who always serve as the pawns in this perverted game of globalist chess.
Presently, anyone who doubts the prevailing ruling class framing of the Russia-Ukraine conflict is immediately castigated as a puppet of Putin, a lover of authoritarianism. But in reality, patriotic, dispassionate realists see this conflict as an inevitable consequence of years of lies and failures from Washington, Brussels, and Davos.
Western elites promised Russia no eastward expansion of NATO, and promised Ukraine protection and an eventual path to membership in both the alliance and the EU. All of those pledges were lies which massively ratcheted up the ancient enmities that have long plagued this Black Sea region, the “bloodlands.”
Adherents to an America First foreign policy of realism and restraint recognize that Russia’s unwarranted and treacherous invasion deserves condemnation and simultaneously does not directly threaten any vital US national security interest. Consequently, the war represents a terrible human tragedy but a rather minor strategic issue for America, and so it should be confronted accordingly. The most effective method to harm Putin and de-fund his war machine is clearly via a cessation of energy purchases, a step the Western alliance is totally unwilling to take.
Instead, we embark upon an incredibly risky full-scale economic war on the Russian people. These unprecedented actions weaponize money to punish regular Russian citizens, while largely exempting Putin and the Oligarchs. This financial “dirty bomb” via a Currency War also jeopardizes the prosperity of the American masses – it imperils the century-long monetary hegemony of King Dollar.
But, many Americans feel intimidated into accepting these massive risks, with constant emotional manipulation from the legacy media and big business. The Ukraine flag replaces the mask as the virtue-signaling mark of inclusion into the “enlightened” echelons of society.
But has Biden or anyone else in power displayed the respect or decency to make the case to our citizens why we are so endangered by this faraway conflict? What is the direct American interest to justify these unparalleled potential pitfalls? For example, the threats to the global food supply vault higher, particularly because of Russia’s integral role as a fertilizer supplier.
If so-called “experts” like McFaul think that the Deplorables will simply accept their wisdom on such crucial matters, they need to wake up and realize that everyday Americans no longer trust ruling class dilletantes with such matters of grave significance.
After all, the very same institutions and people who now push the loudest for American escalation into this conflict, are the same characters who inflicted a non-stop stream of lies and injuries upon our country over recent decades. Consider some of the doozies:
-Iraq War and WMD
-China’s World Trade Organization Membership
-Housing Crisis
-Afghanistan Occupation
-Fed Balance Sheet Bubble
-Russia Collusion Hoax
-Covid Lockdowns
Here is the harsh reality of the American ruling class: they are as dumb as they are corrupt. They are as wrong about every major decision as they are self-aggrandizing.
So, when people like George Soros, Sean Hannity, Joe Biden, Lindsey Graham, and Michael McFaul pretend America’s national security demands escalation and intervention in Ukraine, pay attention…and get skeptical, fast.
When organizations like MSNBC, Stanford University, the World Economic Forum, and Defense Contractors all relay breathless warnings about Putin marching to Paris and beyond, tune out their cacophony of crazy.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”
Our "elites" are both abysmally stupid and they are isolated from the consequences of their policies and decisions. It's the "lttle guy" who pays the price. They can afford to pay high prices for fuel or buying an electric car.
Still, too many buy their propaganda. Simple logic would tell you that a Russian army that has huge difficulties defeating Ukraine, let alone occupying it, is in no position to invade and occupy any NATO country. The idea that Russian tanks will roll through Warsaw, Berlin or Paris if Ukraine falls, is just stupid.
Spot on. It was the Obama admin’s coup in 2014, admitted to by Neuland, that threw out a democratically elected president and installed one backed by the neo Nazis.
