Michigan Suffers Preventable Crimes from Biden’s Border Chaos

The awful Laken Riley murder in Georgia is not some one-off outlier.

Michigan endures the ravages of Biden’s open border, with assaults of violence upon Michigan citizens, including children, and upon Michigan properties.

Polling strongly reveals that the voters of that key battleground state have had enough!

Specifically, my populist labor advocacy organization, the League of American Workers, asked likely voters in Michigan to rate the federal government’s job performance in managing the border.

The consensus assessment was terrible for the whole Biden administration, including highly unpopular Vice-President Kamala Harris and newly impeached Alejandro Mayorkas. Overall, only 22% of Michigan citizens rate the border job performance as “strong,” and 73% say it is “weak.”

But the detailed numbers in the poll crosstabs are even worse for the Biden/Harris ticket. For instance, 84% of white working-class men call Biden’s border management weak. That disapproval crosses racial and ethnic boundaries, though. For instance, among Hispanics in Michigan, a stunning 0% reported that border enforcement is “very strong.” That is zero, a bagel percent! In contrast, a whopping 71% of Hispanics say border management is “very weak.”  So much for the media narrative that Latino citizens are soft on border issues.

Undoubtedly, Michigan residents reject Biden’s border crisis in large part because of the additional illegal acts perpetrated against people and property by those who unlawfully trespass into our country. Every single one of these crimes committed by illegal migrants is preventable. But…only if America embraces the resolve and the will to guard our nation’s front door.

In Michigan, some of the acts of violence committed by illegals are truly horrific. For instance, last year an illegal alien from Mexico, Saul Garcia Ramirez, was convicted of the sexual assault of a child in Oakland County, Michigan and sentenced to at least 11 years in prison.

Another sex-crimes offender, Pedro Zarate-Banos was recently arrested in Michigan after ICE learned of his unlawful presence in the state. He had already been convicted in Michigan of sexual assault in 2002. He was deported then, but recently crossed Biden’s open border and took up residence again in the very state where he inflicted his previous felonies.

Property crimes escalate, as well, because of the torrent of illegal migrants operating with impunity in America. As reported by the CBS Detroit, the Oakland County sheriff reports an “increase in high-end home break-ins.” Sheriff Bouchard explained that the thieves are “transnational gangs” from “south of the border.”  He further detailed that they have stolen “hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars” worth of goods from Michigan luxury homes.

Michigan is clearly in play into November’s election. Though Joe Biden carried the state in 2020, our polling reveals a dead heat general election race, with Trump and Biden tied at 43% each. Given the harsh pain inflicted by Biden’s open border upon the innocent children and homeowners of Michigan, expect the momentum there to continue to swing toward Trump.
