Our Gun Control Offer Is This: Nothing

Time for weakling GOP Establishment pols to channel Michael Corleone in Washington.

Establishment Republicans remain hell-bent on “losing less” in negotiations with their Beltway Dem cronies across the aisle. Right now, an inflation inferno engulfs America, strangling prosperity and crushing confidence. As awful as these economic circumstances are, the financial failures of Biden and his cabal should present generational opportunity for political gains for those of us who believe in cultural conservatism combined with economic populist nationalism.

But remarkably, feckless legacy GOP officeholders display intense cognitive dissonance as they bow down to radical politicians and the ruling class on guns. Instead of fully embracing this historic moment, instead of seizing upon the egregious economic errors of our opponents, far too many establishment GOP lackeys insist on sticking to the pre-Trump modus operandi of merely slowing down the Left’s incessant destruction of the American way of life.

Ten Republican senators now stand ready to cave to the gun-grabbing Leftists, in the name of supposed “moderation” and “compromise” with the tyrants who seek nothing less than a disarmed society, vulnerable to all the predations of Big Government/Big Business despots. This mode of “compromise,” mind you, involves our movement giving up inalienable rights in return for, well, nothing! Absolutely zilch.

The Left will not be sated. They hate guns and they despise the Bill of Rights. This dirty deal involves utterly no payback for the acquiescence of GOP Senate eunuchs who surrender to a systemic rollback of Americans’ critical civil rights regarding firearms.

Make no mistake about just how consequential this submission will become, particularly regarding so-called red flag regulations. In a vacuum, such restrictions may not seem terribly dangerous for lawful gun owners. But in the reality of America in the 2020’s, any disagreement with the dogmatic ruling class ideology will constitute such “red flags.”
