Restore Illinois by Establishing Law and Order Again
Both JB Pritzker and Richard Irvin fail to fight crime. Darren Bailey will restore safety.
Violent crime terrorizes Illinois, and the mayhem is not just contained to Chicago, though the carnage is worst there. Neither feckless J.B. Pritzker nor pandering Richard Irvin can possibly confront this public safety crisis and restore law and order to our streets. In contrast, State Senator Darren Bailey brings the agenda and worldview of an outsider ready to demand public order and restore stability and calm to Illinois communities.
Richard Irvin forfeits any claim as an anti-crime candidate given his own dismal failures as mayor of Aurora. First, consider his shamefully complicit statements in 2020 justifying the summer of violent madness that erupted across America, including in his own city. Even as large swaths of America literally burned from weeks of lawless violence and looting, Irvin appeared with radical leftist professors to excuse the havoc unleashed by criminal elements.
Specifically, at a Roosevelt University forum in Chicago, Irving amazingly said he was “conflicted” about the destruction of human life and property. Here is Irvin the chameleon…in his own damning words…
The set-up:
“You know, as a I sat there in the police situation room in the EOC, emergency operations center… You know my downtown just on fire, people destroying things. I was conflicted – in one sense I am the mayor and I’m saying, this can’t happen in my city”
“Conflicted”??? What?
But, Irvin was just revving up. The excuse-making continued, justifying the carnage imposed by the rampaging thugs:
"And then on the other hand I realize unless there is some type of disruption in what we want here in our country, things won’t change. Just to simply knock on somebody’s door and say I want equity and fairness without disruption and without anything behind just doesn’t work. Disruption, that needs to happen for real change to occur.”
So, according to Irvin there will be no ”equity and fairness” without the “disruption” of the most violent riots in decades, and perhaps in all of American history? Really, Richard? Then again, now wonder such drivel would flow from the same politician who also lavished praised upon BLM during the riots, bragging that “I support Black Lives Matter strongly and passionately.”
Given that a crime-coddling radical like Irvin has been in charge of the second largest city in Illinois, it is sadly unsurprising that the citizens of Aurora have endured a shocking 40% surge in violent crime since 2019. Even worse, criminal sexual assault rose a staggering 128% from 2019 through 2021 there, on Irvin’s watch. The women of Aurora pay an especially traumatizing price for the destruction of law and order while Irvin panders to academics and other fellow travelers in the leftist political scene.
Of course, Pritzker’s record exposes an equally frightening string of failures regarding public safety. Consider the sequence of events that unfolded recently in Chicago involving Pritzker’s own home, a scene reminiscent of The Godfather.
As I detailed in an earlier article in RealClear Politics,
“Thieves broke into two northside stores and stole cash registers. They emptied the contents and then dumped the empty registers on the front lawn of Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s private home in Chicago’s swankiest neighborhood.”
“Then, after depositing their discarded plunder at the governor’s abode as a show of criminal panache and disrespect, they proceeded to the high-end shopping district of Michigan Avenue where they robbed the Burberry luxury goods store … for a second time in three days. Police report that they stole over $100,000 in goods on the first Burberry break-in.”
These brazen criminals did not fear the consequences of dumping their burgled garbage at the home of the man who ostensibly runs a state in America.
This spirit of lawlessness leads to a city where blood fills the streets, and it primarily flows from young black men, from the very communities that Irvin and Pritzker claim to represent. In 2021, Chicago earned the dubious title of America’s deadliest city, with 800 murders. The death toll would have been even worse, if not for the practiced skill of Chicago ER’s at handling gunshot trauma. In fact, Chicago nurses are doctors have become so proficient at treating shooting victims, that the US military sent its medics to Chicago to train before deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan.
This chaos cannot continue. This anarchy cannot comprise the new normal for the hard-working and law-abiding citizens of Illinois. Both Irvin and Pritzker failed miserably at this fundamental task of securing the lives and property of citizens.
Darren Bailey, in contrast, will bring his strong anti-crime record to the governor’s office. For example, Bailey will insist that Illinois honor the Second Amendment right of citizens to defend themselves and their families while simultaneously passing laws inflicting harsher sentences on criminals who misuse firearms to commit crimes. Bailey will back law enforcement and use state resources, including the Illinois National Guard, when necessary to restore order.
In addition to policies, the words and attitudes of leaders have real ramifications for street safety. Bailey will never make excuses for criminals, and never cower to violent radical narratives as Irvin and Pritzker have done with appalling regularity. When Darren Bailey is governor, law and order will be restored in the Land of Lincoln.
Restore Illinois by Establishing Law and Order Again
Why the hell are you backing Bailey? He doesn't even support election integrity. I've been following him for a year and a half. Just another slick politician.
Never fear. Illinoisan here. Stay at home. Let Dominion do the voting for us. We now have selections. Not elections.
