The Two I's for 2022: Inflation & Immigration
With falling Real Wages (adjusted for inflation), the worst possible idea is a giant influx of new low-skilled, illegal workers to compete in the labor market.
The two I’s will dominate the decision process for most voters into the 2022 midterm elections: Inflation and Immigration. On inflation, the latest data points prove that the Biden inflation surge worsens, as the latest PPI Producer Price Index release showed a stunning 9.7% annualized rate of wholesale inflation, just below the all-time worst level of 9.8%.
This number was twice as big a monthly increase as Wall Street had expected, 1.0% for January vs. the 0.5% consensus prediction. Not only are prices increasing, but the pace of the increases accelerates as well. Biden’s inflation right now is like a vehicle that’s already headed downhill, gaining in speed he and Nancy and Chuck press the gas pedal to the floor while the car descends.
Nonetheless, that precise scenario unfolds right now, as the Wall Street Journal reports a stunning total level of arrests at 1.9 million uninvited, illegal trespassers at our southern border for the year 2021.
Concurrent with this human tsunami of illegal economic migrants breaking-and-entering into our homeland, Biden has completely neutered ICE Immigrations and Customs Enforcement in the important task of the internal application of immigration laws within America. As reported by the Washington Free Beacon, total deportations under Biden for the year 2021 fell by an astonishing 70% in 2021 vs. 2020. So, Biden simultaneously effectively opens our southern border, de-facto invites millions of unlawful migrants, and sidelines the brave agents of ICE.
Consequently, millions of migrants, mostly young men, make the logical choice to come to America without permission, knowing full well that the overwhelmed CBP Customs and Border Protection struggle to prevent illegal entry. The migrants – and the cartels that control the border region – also now know that after trespassing into America, the ensuing threat of deportation becomes minimal under Biden.
Understandably, Americans recoil against this madness. In the latest Gallup Poll, almost 6 out of 10 citizens report disapproval of the current levels of immigration to America, including legal migration. The 58% dissatisfaction rate represents a climb of 8% since 2020. In fact, the percentage of citizens calling for reduced levels of immigration nearly doubled in the last year. Clearly, anxious Americans realize that a mass influx of low-skilled and totally unvetted migrants pouring into America is the last thing that stressed citizens need right now. Our country faces an economic crisis created by Biden, intense political polarization, and increasingly chaotic streets ruled by violent criminals. Unfettered migration into America materially exacerbates all of those problems.
