What I Saw at the US-Mexico Border
Three harsh realities I learned about Biden’s border recklessness.
However bad you think the Biden Border Crisis is, the reality is even worse, I assure you. For example, I study this issue exhaustively.
Why?
Well, first because it regularly ranks as the number two most important issue on voters’ minds in my extensive battleground state polling, behind only Inflation. Plus, as a Hispanic populist nationalist and immigrant son, the issue of immigration has long fascinated me.
But even with my extensive study of the topic, I was still alarmed and surprised at some of the harsh realities I uncovered during my recent trip to southern Arizona to investigate and film my documentary “What’s Behind the Biden Border Crisis: Cortes Investigates.”
Below are three important revelations, and here are the Facebook and Rumble links to watch my short (18 min) documentary:

Rumble:
1. The Biden Administration “Turned Off” Border Technology. My crew and I went to Cochise County, Arizona to visit the border and interview the intrepid local Sheriff Mark Dannels. That four-decade lawman and his staff struggle to deal with the fallout of Biden’s reckless policies. In fact, the sheriff told us on camera that the situation has never been worse at the border.
Part of the reason: once Biden won, federal authorities literally turned off existing, working technology that assists in securing the border and catching illegal aliens who trespass into America. That portion of the border wall has extensive technology including cameras, sensors, and lights that provide technological backup to the humans charged with public safety in the border region.
But the Biden Administration flipped the “power switch” and turned this technology off. I wish I were kidding about this fact. They actually chose to let paid-for, working, effective equipment go dormant, all for political narrative reasons.
If that dereliction of duty makes you angry – and it should – think of how it crushes the morale of the brave officers working in the dangerous area of southern Arizona?
2. American Children Are Directly Recruited by the Mexican Cartels. Because of the massive inflow of new funds for the Mexican Mafia due to large scale human smuggling, those vicious criminal gangs get far more advanced and aggressive operating on the US side of the border. Part of that effort within the US involve using social media to directly recruit American children with cars to serves as a sort of smugglers’ “Uber” service to transport illegal people and drugs north from the border.
The cartels recruit minors under the age of 18, because if they get apprehended, the criminal justice system treats them far more leniently than adult criminals. The cartels specifically target poorer American teens, many in the Tucson area, and offer substantial amounts of money to these often-naïve American children.
It’s difficult to exaggerate the hazards of this trend, involving American minors interacting directly with some of the most dangerous and well-funded criminals/terrorists in the world. The Cochise sheriff told us he has arrested over 100 such American minors.
3. Tucson Crime. As the largest city near the Arizona portion of the border, the wonderful citizens of Tucson deal with the immediate fallout of Biden’s open border. A combination of a very left-leaning local government plus proximity to the border and the abundant flow of cheap fentanyl creates a terrible dilemma for Tucson police and residents.
I was frankly shocked to see how much the city has deteriorated since my last visit. In many ways, Tucson’s problems replicate the quality-of-life failures that have made San Francisco infamous. The trends of urban “camp cities,” widespread open drug abuse across the city, and the attendant crime all now afflict Tucson. Some of the blame clearly belongs to negligent local officials, but the worst part of the problem flows from the purposeful radical policies of Biden and Washington DC at the nearby border.
Of course, most of that fentanyl is not staying in Tucson. It flows from there all over America. Our country reached a sad milestone in 2021 with over 100,000 total overdose deaths and continues to exceed that tragic marker every year since. Most of those lost lives are due to opioids, and a huge portion involves fentanyl. Even worse, thousands of these deaths are young Americans who have no idea they are even ingesting deadly fentanyl, because it is inserted by the cartels into other supposedly “safer” drugs.
For all these reasons and more, it is time to end this dire dereliction of duty by Biden, Harris, Mayorkas, and the rest of the open borders radicals.

First, outstanding piece by Cortez. Many thanks, Steve.
Secondly, although the end of merit in law schools and bar examinations may not be "deadly", it's not exactly ideal either. Assuming it's even possible to guess what the current state of the law is after 3 years of Garland [and the federal court system] ignoring due process, freedom of speech, attorney/ client privilege, etc., one has to wonder about a system which allows law students to become attorneys simply by clerking for 6 months in a law firm rather than passing a comprehensive examination on torts, property, constitutional law, evidence, contracts, criminal law and procedure. Presumably the generation of lawyers produced by this system will then tutor the next generation of lawyers ....and the predictable results will be felt by clients. [Of course, it could be argued the results can't be worse than the lawyering Trump got in New York where his "team" is now complaining they "still don't know what the charge was." If so, what in the flying fuck did they plead "Not Guilty" to? How can one plead if not placed on notice of the specific charge? Why wasn't a demurrer lodged? It would have been denied and they could have avoided the little pseudo trial presided over by toy judge merchan [I can't bring myself to use capitalization] and gone straight to appeal].
Open borders, dumbed down schools, the demonization of “Whiteness!” and the war on meritocracy which is being replaced with “Equity” aka Equal Outcomes are just a few of the many ways the democrats are destroying this country yet many of our “fellow Americans” have no problem with this and support the democrats. This is just not working at all.
“Editor’s Note: America is at war. This is not a traditional war, fought on a battlefield against an external enemy. It is a civilizational conflict against an internal enemy: the group quota regime, a revolutionary threat that seeks to reorganize American society around the principle of outcome equality — what the regime’s partisans call “equity.”
“This cold civil war may go unnoticed by many day-to-day, but its stakes are often as high as life and death. Here, Roger B. Cohen, a celebrated oncologist and professor in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, explains how the group quota regime has taken hold of the American medical education system and asks urgent questions about the consequences for medicine, for the sick, and for the country.”
